This article will go briefly into stress and pregnancy and how to prevent any stress during your pregnancy.

When you are pregnant, you need to remain as healthy as possible. This is because not only are you now looking after your own health, but the additional health of your baby which is growing day by day inside of you. You need to nurture this baby and keep as much stress as possible away from your pregnancy. Stress can harm you and your unborn baby during pregnancy. Information has come to light to suggest that any stress you have during a pregnancy has the possibility of producing a hormone that may be a cause of miscarriages. This however has not been proven, but do you really want to risk it on the off chance that this is a possibility during your pregnancy. Stress is also thought now, to induce pre-term labor.

There are many other reasons why you should try your best to avoid stress during a pregnancy. Not only will stress make you feel run down, lethargic and ill, stress during a pregnancy can also cause bouts of depression. This is one thing you most certainly do not want during a pregnancy. Pregnant women have been known to get so severely stressed during their pregnancy that they have in the end not being able to function adequately and have become quite withdrawn, even ill.

To relieve any stressful situations or just stress in general, you must take a step back and consider the position you are now in. You are pregnant and your body is working for two living beings now. During a pregnancy you have to relax, you have to share your responsibilities out a bit more. Now I know a lot of women out there are stubborn and do not like to think or feel that they cannot cope with what they normally would be doing. Women need to learn to get that out of their mind frame. You are pregnant, and you deserve for your sake and for the sake of your baby’s health to lighten your load a little. You cannot possibly remain healthy and do all that you would normally be doing. During a pregnancy you will learn that trying to do too much will in fact create stress and bad situations. Never be afraid to ask for support or additional help while you are pregnant. This is far better for both you and baby than over doing things and becoming full of stress. Pregnancy really does make high physical demands on you and your body, so look after your body well during a pregnancy.

During your pregnancy if you keep up an appropriate exercise routine (bearing in mind you are pregnant) and rest you will prevent stress from invading your pregnancy time.

If you do feel like stress is invading your pregnancy, seek some assistance or advice. You may even have to speak to your doctor or the caregiver you have assigned to you for your pregnancy duration. Sometimes you will see signs of possible stress being in your life during pregnancy. If you have any cramps, spot bleeding, please seek medical assistance as soon as possible. This could be signs of stress or it could be signs of something else that needs medical assistance.
