Sign Of Drug Addiction - Drug Addiction Sign

Are you concerned about a person you know or are close to, being addicted to drugs. There are a few signs you can learn to recognize and become aware of to help you make a fair judgement call on a person possibly being addicted to drugs. This article is going to give you some information on how you can learn to recognize the signs of drug addiction.

Drugs affect people in so many varying ways. There are recognizable signs of drug addiction that are easily picked up and learned. You have to be prepared to observe a persons behavioral patterns over a certain amount of time however. Then of course, one has to stop and question just what drugs this person you are concerned about could be addicted to. Three commonly used drugs that come to mind include: Marijuana, Cocaine and Heroin. Obviously two of these drugs are much harder than the other. However addiction to drugs is not healthy for anyone with any drug.

A person with a Marijuana drug addiction will show a range of recognizable signs. All you have to do is learn them and make careful observation. A person addicted to marijuana will often seem hungry while smoking a joint or after smoking a joint. A very easy sign of marijuana drug addiction to learn to recognize is the smell of stale marijuana and its smoke. This is very distinguishable and will smell out the persons clothing and his or her breath. If a persons clothing or their breath constantly has this repulsive smell, then I would class that as a sign indicating a drug addiction. However, it always pays to be sure, so observe and see if you can recognize any further possible signs of a drug addiction problem.

A person who has any drug addiction will often show signs of hyper-activity. Another sign linked to hyperactivity in a person who has a drug addiction is the ability to become an excessive talker. People who have become addicted to drugs will not know when to stop talking, and a lot of the time what they have to say, makes no sense what so ever. It is wise to become aware of personality changes in a person. A personality change can often be a sign indicating a drug addiction in a person. In addition to the signs of drug addiction I have mentioned above, there are also other signs or drug addiction. A parent who has become addicted to drugs can often lose interest in his or her partner and children. Watch out for these signs of drug addiction. If your partner seems to have better places to be all the time, or no longer wants to partake in family outings as a whole family, seems irritable, shuts him or herself outside in the garage for hours on end - I would be suspicious of a drug addiction. These are all classic signs of a parent having a drug addiction.

Other signs to recognize in a person who has an addiction to drugs can include:
Tardiness - a person who has a drug addiction will often appear for class late, or for work late. Other sings of a drug addiction related to tardiness can be: lack of attention, and lack of concentration. This can be very dangerous, especially in the workforce. You imagine a person operating heavy machinery who has a drug addiction and turns up at work stoned. This can spell disaster.

Lack of Motivation: This sign can often be a give-a-way. A person who once was very motivated that now never feels like doing anything or simply cant be bothered can often be on drugs.

Defensiveness: Anyone who has a drug problem and has let it become an addiction can often act defensively and get irritable with you over nothing. Unfortunately at times, with some people addicted to drugs, this irritability can turn into violence. This is far from being a healthy situation for anyone involved.

The want of Money - A drug addict will often want large sums of money. This is often one of the very best signs to recognize when you have suspicions on a person having a drug addiction.

Other sings of drug addiction can include: Paranoia, unexplained accidents (including car accidents), An effort to keep arms or legs covered (this is to hid needle marks if using drugs this way), Altered personal grooming, Possession of drug paraphernalia.

Above I have gone into some signs that relate to drug addiction. Become aware of what these and other signs are. You could not only be saving the life of a person, but could also be saving your own.
