Bipolar Depression Symptom - Bipolar Disease Symptom
By Leeanne Utiger Bipolar disorder is a mental illness which can affect any given person. When a person has bipolar disorder they will go through very erratic mood swings and behavior patterns. They will also swing very quickly between 'highs' (mania) and 'lows' (depression). Because of these two differing emotional states of bipolar disorder I am going to go into detail about one of these emotional states that a bipolar sufferer goes through. This will be the symptoms of the depression bipolar causes. If you think you know someone who may have bipolar disorder or appears to be acting very extreme, this article on symptoms of bipolar depression may be of some assistance to you.
Symptoms of Bipolar Disorder Depression:
There are a few signs and symptoms that can be recognized as an indication that a person may in fact be suffering from bipolar disorder. I am going to detail a few of these symptoms that are related to depression in bipolar disorder, but please bear in mind that some of these symptoms for depression of bipolar disorder could also be symptoms for other mental illnesses. Symptoms of depression caused by bipolar disorder can include the feeling of distrust in ones self, and the feeling of inability to do anything appropriately or successfully. Symptoms of depression related to bipolar disorder also include the feeling of severe hopelessness. Other main symptoms that can indicate a depressive mood in connection to bipolar disorder are:
A constantly sad person
A constantly anxious person
Someone who feels worthless and like they don't make a difference to anything (sometimes this symptom of depression relating to bipolar disorder will be difficult for an observer to see)
Loss of interest in normal every day and enjoyable activities
Lack of energy - lowered energy levels
Lack of concentration or failed memory systems
Restlessness
Sleep disturbances
Loss of appetite - an increase of appetite. This symptom of depression in a sufferer of bipolar disorder will vary with each individual person and level of illness.
Constant thoughts of death or even suicide
Some of these symptoms are quite severe symptoms of possible depression in a bipolar disorder sufferer. Some of these symptoms you will easily see, and some of the symptoms you will not so easily see, so keep your ears to the ground also, to see if you can pick up on any of these depressive symptoms of bipolar disorder that way.
Bipolar Disease Symptom:
Obviously with the symptoms I have mentioned above relating to depression surrounding bipolar they are already symptoms to watch out for that could indicate a person you know actually having bipolar disorder disease. Bipolar as I have already mentioned is a mental health disease.
There are symptoms of bipolar disease, but as I keep saying, be careful when trying to connect what you see as symptoms of a mental health illness to bipolar disorder disease as the symptoms could be indicating this person has in fact a different mental illness. Some of the symptoms of bipolar disorder disease can include the following:
Erratic mood swings
Restlessness
Hyperactivity
Abnormal behavior
Lack of sleep
Depression
Mania (a state of being 'high')
The inability to function appropriately
Lack of attention
These are possible symptoms of a person having bipolar disorder disease, yet these symptoms can be a coincidence and yet indicate another medical condition, more than likely another mental illness disease. If you feel you recognize any of these symptoms that could indicate bipolar disorder disease, please make sure you get further advice. It is often wise to verify that the person you have concerns about are in fact showing at least 4 of these symptoms. This will possibly mean this person may have bipolar disorder disease to be more likely. Any disease is not to be messed about with, and treatment is recommended as soon as possible. Therefore it is always advisable and in the best interest of a person to have the disease of bipolar disorder diagnosed as soon as possible.
